Developers of the Crystal Oaks homes project in Nipomo recently gave $5,000 to help restore the Dana Adobe.
The Crystal Oaks Partnership which includes Klara Bergman, Roger Rieger and Greg Nester – gave the check to the Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos.
The money will go toward restoring the 13-room structure, which was built in 1851.
The Amigos recently started a capital campaign to raise $200,000 to fix the crumbling south wall of the structure, which was further damaged in heavy rains earlier this year.
The Amigos’ goal is to create a historic park at the adobe site.
That would include acquiring 120 acres of surrounding land, reconstructing outbuildings that were part of the original rancho and building a visitor’s center and museum.

Thanks to the Crystal Oaks developers for giving something back to the community.
